When it does not work with cars: Renault plans to make money on garbage

Renault will redesign one of its factories for the recycling of automotive scrap. The French expect to earn $ 1.1 billion from this business.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine Auto with reference to Reuters.

The French automaker will engage in a non-core business for itself – recycling and returning to service vehicles and components that have served their life.

The idea is that parts that have already been scrapped can be reused in new cars. What their owners, of course, will be incredibly happy about. Much like the headlining made from recycled old wallpaper in the new Kia Niro we talked about earlier.

However, Renault says a new car waste recycling business will generate € 1bn ($ 1.13bn) profit by the end of the decade.

And the head of the Renault Group, Luca de Meo, said that there was no need to build anything – it would be enough to redesign one of the weakly loaded enterprises for recycling. And he even named it – this is a plant in the French town of Flene, located in the vicinity of Paris.

Up to 45,000 used vehicles will pass through this gigantic workshop annually, with annual revenues of € 200 million by 2025.

Recall that the Romanian brand Dacia, whose cars are sold in Ukraine under the Renault brand, announced prices for the new Jogger model. So far, the car is only offered in Europe.
