Over the next few years, Toyota Motor is planning a significant update to its Lexus SUV and SUV range. In 2022 there will be new RX and LX, in 2024 – GX.
RX is the most massive Lexus crossover, including in the key market for the brand – in the United States. The next generation car will receive a more advanced hybrid power plant, advanced security systems and a redesigned multimedia complex.
Predicting the situation with the LX is somewhat easier, because the flagship SUV will traditionally be a close relative of the Toyota Land Cruiser. From the “three hundred” the new LX will get the main components and assemblies, although the issue with the engine is still open: it was decided to get rid of the 5.7-liter “aspirated”, and the 3.5-liter V6 with twin turbocharging from the Land Cruiser does not match the Lexus in terms of output .
In June, the Japanese blog Creative311 reported that the V35A-FTS on the new Lexus LX will be assisted by an electric motor, with a total output of 480 hp and 871 Nm of torque (on the LC300 the petrol engine develops 415 hp). and 650 Nm).
Two years later, in 2024, the Lexus GX will debut. Following the example of its older brother, it will switch to the TNGA-F platform, which underlies the Toyota Land Cruiser 300. From this information, we can conclude that the next Land Cruiser Prado will also be built on the basis of the TNGA-F. Pradik itself will be released a year earlier – in 2023.
According to Automotive News, several hybrid variants are being prepared for the Lexus GX. A week earlier, Japanese media reported that Toyota is developing a new generation of hybrid power plant based on diesel engines ranging from 2.5 to 3.5 liters. One of them will receive a Land Cruiser Prado.
Restyling of the compact Lexus UX crossover, which has been produced since the end of 2018, is also scheduled for 2023. He will have a slight change in appearance and a new multimedia system.
