The premiere of the first electric crossover of the Genesis brand will take place in June this year: judging by the index, the GV60 will be the most affordable model in the lineup of the Korean brand.
According to TheKoreanCarBlog, citing its own sources at Genesis, the Korean premium brand’s first electric crossover will debut in June. The model will receive the GV60 index and will be, apparently, the most compact and affordable in the line. The electric car will be built on a new modular platform E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform) and will share it with the recently presented Hyundai Ioniq 5 and KIA EV6 models. It is to be expected that Genesis GV60 will differ from related “electric trains” with more expensive trim and an extensive list of options. Based on the spy shots, the model will be generally similar to the GV70 crossover, and the body will become even more coupe-like in profile.
There is no information about the power or range of the Genesis GV60 yet, but the E-GMP platform provides for fast charging from terminals with a voltage of 800 volts and a capacity of 350 kilowatts. In 18 minutes, the charge can be replenished by 80 percent, and five minutes is enough to increase the mileage by 100 kilometers. Also, electric cars on this platform can be charged from a 400-volt terminal and from a regular outlet. According to rumors, the GV60 will offer several powertrain options to choose from – both with rear and all-wheel drive, as well as with batteries of different capacities and electric motors of different capacities.
