The Cupra brand, owned by the Spanish company SEAT, has unveiled the UrbanRebel three-door hot hatch concept. This is an unusual electric car that heralds a production car that will not be available until 2025.
The design of the Cupra UrbanRebel concept combines the motives of racing and city cars. The hatchback has a wedge-shaped profile, a shark-nose-style front end, frontal and side windows with a hint of a helmet visor and an original light contour of the stern, emphasized by a high wing. And if the last element of the production car is likely to be less aggressive, then Cupra promises to keep the overall proportions.
“The Cupra UrbanRebel Concept is a radical interpretation of the company’s urban electric vehicle, due to launch in 2025. This racing concept provides inspiration and inspiration for the design language of the future street car, ”said Wayne Griffiths, CEO of Cupra.
In size, the new concept is close to such modern models of the Volkswagen concern as SEAT Ibiza, Volkswagen Polo and Skoda Fabia: its length is 4080 mm, width is 1795 mm, and height is 1444 mm. The production car based on UrbanRebel is being created on the modular platform for electric cars MEB from the Volkswagen Group, so it is possible that other brands from the portfolio of the German auto giant will also have similar models.
The nominal power of the Cupra UrbanRebel electric motor is 340 hp, but in short periods of time the system is capable of delivering up to 435 hp. This is enough to accelerate the hatchback from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.2 seconds.
The Cupra UrbanRebel Concept will be on display at the Cupra stand during the IAA Mobility International Motor Show in Munich, which will take place from 7 to 12 September.
