According to the results of the 2nd quarter of 2021, the total volume of deliveries of Tesla Model 3 in the world amounted to 1,031,588 units of cars, writes CleanTechnica.
As it turned out, only 225,000 new Tesla Model 3s were sold in the world in the 2nd quarter of 2021, so it is quite possible that the threshold of 1 million delivered electric cars was exceeded in June of this year.
For comparison, the Tesla Model Y crossover was sold in the amount of 250,000 cars, and the sales of Model S and Model X during its entire existence – 200,000 cars.
Thus, Model 3 is ahead of its counterparts in sales by about 5 times, and its closest pursuer in terms of overcoming the threshold of 1 million can be called only the Nissan Leaf, the volume of deliveries of which in December 2020 reached 500,000 copies.
Recall that earlier Tesla CEO Elon Musk admitted that the proprietary Full Self-Driving (FSD) autonomous driving system in the current version 9.2 does not work in the best way.
