Chinese ambitious startup XPeng is preparing two new low-cost models of the P7 sedan without autopilot. According to cnevpost.com, they will receive indexes 480G and 670G.
Relatively recently, the manufacturer has already tried to reduce the cost of these machines by using cheaper batteries. Now it was decided to completely get rid of the XPILOT system. It is possible that measures to reduce the cost of the final cost are carried out in order to impose competition on the popular Tesla Model 3 sedan.
But let’s look at the bundles. The 480G version, among other things, does not have ACC adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and blind spot monitoring. The 480 stands for the NEDC range, and the G stands for the lowest performing model in the range. The exclusion of some functions from the equipment made it possible to reduce the price by 10 thousand yuan ($ 1,600). Now the car can be purchased for 219.9 thousand yuan ($ 34,000) and this is the cheapest offer for the P7.
The performance of the 670G will be richer, because only the autopilot has been removed from it. Nevertheless, it fell by the same 10 thousand. Its final price is 256,900 RMB ($ 39,800).
The electric car is extremely popular in the Chinese market. During the year of sales, it was possible to sell about 50 thousand copies. Moreover, the P7 constantly manages to update its monthly supply records.
