Six classic Soviet cars are on sale in Oregon: three Zhiguli, a pair of Volga and a Moskvich. Prices for cars can be compared with American classics – from 11 to 23 thousand dollars.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine Auto with reference to eBay.
Due to the rarity of mass-produced Soviet cars in the United States, the seller did not hesitate to ask for five-figure sums for the cars. So, VAZ-2107 of 1988 was estimated at 11 thousand dollars. The car is in original condition, but not without tuning elements. So, the air filter is painted in the color of the body, and a modern radio tape recorder has been registered in the cabin.
The most authentic lot is the front-wheel drive AZLK-2141. The 1991 car has a run of only 17 thousand km and, judging by the transit numbers, it arrived from Ukraine. The price of “Moskvich” is “only” 15 thousand dollars.
A pair of VAZ-2106s differ significantly in condition. One is completely “stock”, and the second is significantly modified with non-native emblems, alloy wheels, etc. They ask for 17 and 14 thousand dollars for classic sedans, respectively.
The ad also contains two GAZ-24-10s from 1988 and 1989. The declared mileage of cars is 6700 and 25,000 km. They ask a lot for them: 17 and 23 thousand dollars. Of course, due to the rarity of Soviet cars in the USA, the seller has the right to indicate his price.
But judging by the fact that the ad has already been re-posted several times, there is no high demand for the meeting. In the USA, for 15-20 thousand dollars you can buy a used Chevrolet Corvette, Ford Mustang and other iconic American cars of the 60s and 70s.
